StepJockey is excited to announce that we have teamed up with Total Motion Events for their annual tower run at Broadgate Tower in London. Total Motion Events have been running events for their corporate and charity partners for years and are among the best in the business.

Total Motion Events and StepJockey have always thought there was potential to work together and it is exciting to come together for what is Total Motion Events flagship event. We hope that this will be the start of a long and productive relationship between StepJockey and Total Motion Events.

The Broadgate Tower Run

The Broadgate Tower Run Up first took place in 2016 and has gone from strength to strength each year. Taking place at the 161 metre tall Broadgate tower in the heart of the City of London.

Participants will tackle the 35 floor climb which has 877 steps by either entering with a charity partner or simply be entering through the Total Motion Events website, there is no obligation to raise money for charity.

In addition to the individual Tower Run there will also be a family run where families can tackle the climb together as well as both a vertical mile and ¼ vertical mile – something for everyone! Although you’ll have to be quick as the ¼ and full vertical mile are almost sold out!

Beat the Elite

This year for the first time the Broadgate Tower Run Up will be part of the Vertical World Circuit, a series of nine professional tower runs that happen around the world. The most elite stair runners in the world will be there to compete in the world’s premier stair climbing circuit.

Total Motion Events have cooked up an incredible idea to tie in with Broadgate’s first year on the Vertical World Circuit. Participants in the Tower Run Up will have a chance to try and beat the elite stair climbers and win some amazing prizes.

Don’t think it will be easy, the elite runners are incredible athletes but who doesn’t love an underdog story!

StepJockey Wave

StepJockey will be taking a hands on approach to our partnership with Total Motion Events and with that in mind there will be a StepJockey wave taking part in the Tower Run Up.

The StepJockey wave will be at 1:30 pm and if you are interested in joining us you can sign up below.

The Empire State Building Run-Up Presented by Turkish Airlines Powered by the Challenged Athletes Foundation

Why You Should Sign Up For A Tower Running Event This Year

OVERVIEW

The Empire State Building Run-Up (ESBRU)—the world’s first and most famous tower race—challenges runners from around the globe to race up its famed 86 flights—1,576 stairs.

While visitors can reach the building’s Observatory via elevator in under a minute, the fastest runners cover the 86 floors in about 10 minutes.

Leaders in the sport of professional tower-running converge at the Empire State Building on May 12, 2020, in what some consider the ultimate test of endurance.

Turkish Airlines, known for flying to more countries than any other in the world, is the proud presenting sponsor of the 2019 ESBRU. Headquartered within the Empire State Building, Turkish Airlines is a 4-star airline with a fleet of 329 (passenger and cargo) aircrafts.

Returning as the official charity of the Run-Up is the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF). As a world leader in helping people with physical challenges lead active and healthy lifestyles, CAF believes that participation in physical activity at any level increases self-esteem, encourages independence and enhances quality of life.

Participants in the race include the Men’s and Women’s Elite Heats, media, celebrities and New York City real estate brokers. Turkish Airlines, Challenged Athletes Foundation, members of the NYPD & FDNY, and lottery winners also compete.

The runners in the CAF heat fundraise to help raise awareness and much-needed donations so people with permanent physical challenges gain access to adaptive sports equipment, athletic training, an active lifestyle, community and mentorship.

A number of challenged athletes from across the country will race up the 1,576 steps and 86 floors.
